You have seen them in action. They are usually where a person who is visually impaired is. The seeing eye dog is an animal that is specially selected for the live-giving tasks of helping them move around in a manner that you and I take for granted. Today’s Family First Site takes a look at a site that gives new meaning to the term “a dogs life”.

The name of the site is the Eye Dog Foundation. Eye Dog Foundation was organized as a non-profit corporation in 1952. Ever since that time, it has been dedicated to giving guide dogs to the blind at absolutely no cost to them. Their German Shepherd Dogs have been assisting blind individuals all over the world with their daily travels.
This site is one that tells about the training program these animals go through, as well as how they are selected, and how the cybervisitor can help. These dogs are provided free of charge to the qualified individuals, and the cost for them is provided solely by voluntary public donations. An interesting area is showing how the puppies are raised, and the people who raise them. Doctors, lawyers, retirees, some as young as 11 years of age, they all help.
So if you have ever been interested in seeing how these dogs are trained, then this is a site to visit. It is an eye-opening site, to say the least.
